Professor Fisseha Itana

The Bible Academy was and still is a home after home, which I always relate to even after leaving its physical premises 53 years ago. I find the motto of the Bible Academy ‘we prepare you not for the Ethiopian School Leaving Examination (ESLCE) alone, but for life’, is real, and even more real is the word in Proverbs 22:6 ‘train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old, he will not depart from it’.

The three biggest takeaways from the BA for me were the preparation in the Christian faith, professional career and life discipline. My faith was well grounded in the Lord, through the series of Bible lessons, devotions, seminars, fellowships and prayer times held there and an unshakable character and discipline is instilled in me, as a result. The education I acquired at the Bible Academy was the best ever which laid a good foundation for my success in subsequent studies and career. The love and joy among staff, students and all workers were so overwhelming that we still relate as one big family, with the BA alumni, teachers and workers alike, no matter where we are or under whatever circumstance we live in.

We thank God, the Mennonite Mission from the USA, and our teachers, BA workers and the management for the priceless upbringing and life lessons.
