It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gash Alemayehu Assefa, a former staff member & student of BA Academy. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, 14 June 2026.
Many members of the BA Academy community will remember Alemayehu as the tallest Ethiopian staff member at the school and as the dedicated administrator responsible for maintaining student records throughout the 1970s until the school’s closure in 1983.
He was known for his kindness, helpful nature, and joyful spirit, and he touched the lives of countless students, staff, and families during his years of service.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. May they find strength and comfort in the memories they shared with him.
May his soul rest in peace.
